Job summary

Van Cleef Engineering Associates, LLC in Freehold, NJ is seeking a qualified Bridge Inspector Team Leader/Bridge Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm. You will lead bridge safety inspections and collaborate with staff across offices.

Responsibilities include leading inspection teams, designing and detailing bridge components, and preparing inspection reports, with opportunities for advancement and growth within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3–7 years of bridge inspection experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• NJ PE license or other state PE license is a plus.
• Attendance of Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (NHI Course 130053) and Bridge Inspector (Team Leader) Certification recommended for Team Leader but not required for Assistant Team Leader.

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge safety inspection work as the Team Leader and oversee the inspection team, or as a member of a bridge safety inspection team and assist higher level inspectors.
• Design and detailing/drafting of bridge and highway elements, and preparation of bridge inspection reports
• Perform inspections on moving equipment at variable heights
• Apply their knowledge and abilities to assist with office work including general engineering
