Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking a Bridge Inspector to join our Bridge Inspection Group in New Albany, IN or Indianapolis, IN or Jacksonville, FL. You will perform hands-on structural safety inspections for transportation agencies and contribute to safe, efficient networks across the region.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, an EIT or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of bridge inspection experience. Occasional night work and overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years bridge inspection experience; NBIS familiarity a plus.
• Able to travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine bridge and structural safety inspections per FHWA, state, and agency standards.
• Develop inspection schedules and coordinate with clients/stakeholders.
• Arrange access equipment and traffic control for safe inspections.
• Collect field data and prepare comprehensive inspection reports with findings and photos.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate with project managers promptly.
• Support in estimating inspection hours and preparing proposals.
