Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Bridge Inspector to join our South Carolina team. The role includes bridge inspections, preparing reports in accordance with NBIS, and some office engineering such as rating and rehab/repair design.

You will support HDR's national inspection program and work from the Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Fort Mill offices. Responsibilities include performing load calculations, coordinating with clients and subs, and advancing knowledge in engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 2+ years' bridge/structural inspection, rating experience or design experience.
• Completion of NBIS training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bridge inspections, develop inspection reports, and perform structural load calculations.
• Work in a team environment and independently while expanding engineering knowledge.
• Support HDR's national inspection program on an occasional basis.
• Perform and update load rating analyses using BrR software.
• Assist with bridge rehabilitation and design efforts.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and railroads to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as needed.
