Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Structural Engineer to oversee NBIS-compliant inspections for state DOT and transportation projects.

You will lead field teams, manage inspections, and ensure high-quality deliverables in line with NBIS and FHWA guidelines. The role requires directing teams, reviewing reports, coordinating with DOT agencies, and maintaining safety and regulatory compliance while using specialized equipment and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT required; PE preferred (CT PE strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of NBIS bridge inspection experience.
• FHWA/NHI training (NHI 130055, 130078, tunnel and ancillary).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise bridge inspection teams on State DOT and public infrastructure projects.
• Perform and oversee NBIS-compliant bridge inspections.
• Prepare and review inspection reports.
• Coordinate with DOT agencies and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as snooper trucks, bucket trucks, rope access, and confined space procedures.
