Job summary

Burgess & Niple seeks a senior bridge engineering professional to lead bridge inspection projects for local and state agencies in Arizona. You will manage project costs, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.

Ideal candidates possess a PE in AZ or eligibility within 6 months, 8+ years in bridge inspection, and strong leadership with business development skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in AZ or eligibility for reciprocal licensure within 6 months.
• 8+ years of bridge inspection experience with staff management.
• Proficiency with AASHTOWare BrM.
• Knowledge of NBIS, SNBI and AASHTO guidelines.
• Desirable: NHI/FHWA bridge/tunnel certifications and related credentials.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive problem solving with a collaborative leadership approach.
• Committed to developing others and fostering teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge inspection projects for local municipalities, ADOT, and other transportation agencies
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project costs, milestones, and deliverables
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory permitting requirements
• Develop and track client proposals including scope development, technical and price proposals, and letters-of-interest
• Identifies new markets, develops leads & opportunities, performs business development activities, and pursues new geographies across the desert southwest
• Develop and/or strengthen relationships with potential clients and teaming partners
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards for bridge inspection and assessment
• Champion quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure accurate, reliable inspection deliverables
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and risk assessments while identifying potential project challenges.
• Foster strong collaboration and professional development within your team
• Mentor and develop early career bridge inspectors
