Job summary

Butler, Fairman & Seufert, Inc is seeking a full-time Bridge Inspection Engineer to work out of our Indianapolis or Lafayette, Indiana office. This role will primarily inspect in-service bridges and culverts across Indiana, working in a two-person field team with travel as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing inspection reports, performing load rating calculations, and recommending major work with cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Indiana PE license or ability to obtain within 5 years.
• INDOT Bridge Inspection Team Leader certification is preferred.
• Prior bridge or transportation inspection experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in two-person field teams to inspect in-service bridges and culverts across Indiana.
• Prepare bridge inspection reports.
• Perform load rating calculations.
• Recommend major repairs with cost estimates based on deficiencies.
• Prioritize recommendations by severity and need; assist the bridge design team as needed.
