Job summary

Butler, Fairman, Seufert, Inc is seeking a full-time Bridge Inspection Project Manager to work out of our Indianapolis or Lafayette, Indiana office. This person will manage the inspection of in-service bridges and culverts across Indiana, with potential hybrid options and other locations.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, INDOT certification or within one year, and prior bridge/transportation experience. Excellent communication with clients is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• INDOT certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader or ability to get within 1 year.
• Previous bridge or transportation experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and clients, in written and verbal form.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, schedules, and workload for bridge and small structure inspection contracts.
• Effectively communicate with internal and external project team and clients.
• Work in teams of two to perform field inspections on in-service bridges and culverts throughout Indiana.
• Review and approve bridge inspection reports.
• Review and approve load rating calculations.
• Recommend major work or repairs based on deficiencies and estimate costs.
• Prioritize major work and repair recommendations based on severity and need.
• Occasionally assist the bridge design department with calculations and plan development.
