Job summary

Collins is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in Canton, MA to join our Structural Inspection Group. You will assist with bridge and transportation inspections, condition assessments, and report preparation, under mentoring by experienced engineers in-office and in the field.

Relocation assistance is available. Field work may require nights, weekends, travel, and working at heights or over traffic and water. A Civil Engineering degree and EIT potential within one year are preferred.

Qualifications

• Interest in bridge/structural inspection and transportation infrastructure.
• Willingness to perform field work including nights/weekends.
• Strong documentation and reporting mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of bridges and transportation structures under licensed engineers.
• Assist in preparation of inspection and condition assessment reports.
• Document field observations, measurements, and photos.
• Support review of structure plans, load ratings, and prior inspection records.
• Use software to prepare exhibits, sketches, calculations, and supporting docs.
• Coordinate with drafters/technicians on figures and data entry for reports.
• Communicate with clients/agency reps regarding activities and findings.
