Job summary

WSP in Glastonbury, Connecticut is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee highway, bridge and rail projects across Connecticut. The role requires a BS in Engineering/Construction Management or NICET 2 or CMIT 3, 1 year (2 years with NICET/CMIT), strong communication, and a valid driver's license; MS Office

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering/Construction Management or NICET 2 or CMIT Level 3 (per CTDOT requirements)
• Minimum 1 year construction inspection experience (2 years with NICET 2 or CMIT 3)
• Strong oral and written technical communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel)

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway and bridge construction to ensure contract compliance.
• Perform field measurements and calculations for payment items.
• Complete daily work reports per policies and procedures.
• Assist other team members in inspection duties.
• Interface with contractor supervisors to monitor daily work.
• Coordinate independent material sampling and testing as needed.
• Monitor maintenance of traffic and document progress.
• Keep Chief Inspector/Resident Engineer informed on activities.
