Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Carpenter Foreman to oversee heavy highway projects in the Richmond, VA area. The role supervises crews on roads, bridges and related structures, reading plans and coordinating with superintendents to meet schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Five years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with structures for bridge and roadway work required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises workers engaged in construction, installation and repair of roads and bridges.
• Reviews documents and plans before proceeding with activities.
• Directs crew, trains workers, and ensures production within budget.
• Acts as competent person per OSHA on the job.
• Plans sequence of activities with Superintendent and Project Engineer.
• Maintains time sheets, material requisitions and daily diary.
• Holds weekly safety meetings and enforces PPE usage.
