Job summary

Parsons is offering a Summer 2027 Bridge Internship in Baltimore to expand your civil/structural engineering skills under direct mentorship. You will work with a world-class team of infrastructure design experts on major area projects.

Ideal candidates will have coursework in transportation or structural engineering, and a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Structural Engineering, with strong communication and CAD skills (MicroStation preferred).

Qualifications

• Completion of transportation or structural engineering coursework.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Ability to work on multiple bridge or roadway projects simultaneously.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office; CAD proficiency (MicroStation preferred) and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine innovative methods for complex bridge engineering problems and optimize solutions.
• Ensure designs meet Federal, State and local requirements and best practices.
• Provide specifications, estimations, data sheets, and technical reports.
• Review supplier drawings and perform bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue construction documents and data sheets.
• Support a project or design team on intermediate to large-scale work.

Job Description:

Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2027 Bridge Internship program supporting our Baltimore team! In this program, you will expand your engineering technical skills and knowledge with direct mentorship and collaboration within a world-class team of Infrastructure design experts!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Determining creative and innovative methods and solutions for complex bridge engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner to achieve objectives
• Assuring that the designs are in accordance with approved Federal, State and local agency requirements as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures
• Providing specifications, estimations, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses
• Reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performing technical bid analyses
• Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a design engineer for intermediate to large scale projects

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Prior transportation or structural engineering coursework
• Bachelors and/or Masters degrees in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
• Interest and ability to work on multiple bridge or roadway projects at once
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High knowledge level of MS Office tools, CAD proficiency (Microstation preferred), and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of industry standards and applicable engineering software
