Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Engineering Intern to join our bridge group in Omaha, NE. This on-site role is expected to begin in Summer 2027 and aims to provide a broad, hands-on learning experience in civil engineering.

Interns work under the guidance of senior engineers, gaining exposure to engineering software and project delivery while developing essential professional skills for a successful transition from student to practicing engineer.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least two years of study completed.
  • Interest in continuing to a Master’s degree is acceptable for internship.
  • Recently graduated students pursuing further study are eligible if enrolled in the prior term.

  • Internships designed to build hands-on skills and bridge student-to-professional transition.
  • Duties provide a broad learning experience within the Civil Engineering field.
  • Intern 2 – complete two years of qualified study.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Engineering Intern to work with our esteemed bridge group in Omaha, NE.

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
  • Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study
Qualifications
  • Candidate must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least two years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the basics of engineering
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation
