Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc is seeking an Engineering Director and Practice Lead for the Bridge Group in Ohio. You will provide management and technical leadership on highway bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and other transportation structures, designed to AASHTO and ODOT requirements.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with multi-state reciprocity.
• 20+ years of bridge and transportation structures experience.
• Ability to lead moderately complex projects and develop plans and specs.
• Strong communication and client engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and technical leadership to the Ohio bridge projects.
• Lead design, calculations, and specifications for highway structures per AASHTO/ODOT.
• Oversee analysis and load rating for existing structures and improvement strategies.
• Lead client interaction and business development with ODOT, OTIC, and local governments.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and discuss client requirements.
• Mentor engineers and lead project meetings.
• Support site visits and occasional travel as needed.
• Prepare cost estimates, scopes of work, and proposals.
