The St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Public Works is seeking a dedicated, energetic Engineer to join the Bridge Engineering and Inspection team. The Engineer will manage projects funded by Federal and County sources, develop in-house design plans and calculations, perform bridge inspections, and review engineering calculations and design plans as a licensed professional engineer for the Department.
The starting salary ranges from $68,993 to $82,748 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Candidates must hold a Professional Engineer license issued by the Missouri Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects, with at least 5 years of practical experience. A valid driver’s license is also required.
A selection committee will evaluate applicants based on education, experience, responses to supplemental questions, references, and other relevant information. Only the most qualified candidates will be invited for an interview, which accounts for 100% of the final grade. Candidates must score at least 70 to be considered for appointment. After interviews, top candidates will be certified to the Department Director for final decision. All conditional offers are contingent upon passing a drug screening at the County’s expense.
