Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Engineering Group seeks a Bridge Engineer to lead design and analysis of steel, concrete, and prestressed bridges in South Carolina. You will own projects from concept through plans, specs, and estimates, collaborating with DOT clients and field teams to deliver durable solutions.

You’ll apply FE modeling, AASHTO LRFD, and design software while mentoring junior staff. This role supports growth toward project leadership with periodic site engagement and rigorous client communication.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of bridge or structural engineering experience.
• PE licensure or on-track within 1 year is required.
• Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD and bridge design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, finite-element modeling, and load rating for steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridges.
• Develop plans, details, and technical reports that meet AASHTO, DOT, and NBIS requirements.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, roadway, and hydraulic teams to integrate foundation and approach-roadway solutions.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction to ensure design intent.
• Mentor junior engineers by sharing best practices in analysis, detailing, and quality control.
