Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc. (GPI) seeks a mid-level Bridge Engineer to join our Pennsylvania team in Scranton, PA. You will design superstructures and foundations for PENNDOT and local agencies, and assist with rehabilitation and detailing on diverse bridge projects.

You will work with senior engineers to mentor staff, prepare calculations and drawings, support cost estimates, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. A collaborative, results-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS with bridge focus preferred.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• 8+ years in structural/bridge design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred.
• Familiar with MATHCAD, BrR, Staad and OpenBridge.
• Knowledge of AASHTO standards and PENNDOT processes.
• Ability to develop plans and calculations for bridge types.

Responsibilities

• Develop superstructure designs for new and replacement bridges.
• Develop rehabilitation plans and details for bridge projects.
• Develop foundation designs for bridges and culverts (Piles, Spread Footers, etc).
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specs, and cost estimates; coordinate with design teams.
• Meet with clients as needed.
