Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Bridge Engineer II in Fort Lauderdale, FL, to lead complex structural designs and coordinate multi-discipline teams. You will review plans, perform constructability and peer reviews, and act as Engineer-of-Record on various structures. A PE license and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Security clearance not required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for steel bridges, precast and prestressed concrete bridges, cast-in-place flat slabs, and miscellaneous structures, with emphasis on complex designs.
• Lead complex structural design efforts; assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers; ensure adherence to project schedules; QC final work product.
• Oversee project design from conception to completion within budget and schedule; coordinate with other disciplines throughout the project.
• Provide constructability reviews; perform independent peer reviews on project submittals.
• Review contract plans and calculations from other teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with codes and plans.
• Serve as Engineer-of-Record for major, minor, and miscellaneous structural designs.
• Communicate high-level concepts with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients and government agencies.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors; contribute to proposal activities with write-ups and reviews.

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Bridge Engineer II to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for steel bridges; pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete bridges; cast-in-place flat slabs; and miscellaneous structures, with a particular emphasis on complex or specialized designs
• Assume lead role in complex structural design efforts; assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules; QC final work product
• Oversee project design from conception to completion in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule; coordinate with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project
• Provide constructability reviews; perform independent peer reviews on project submittals
• Review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing structural design codes and contract plans and specifications
• Serves as the Engineer-of-Record for major, minor, and miscellaneous structural designs
• Communicate high-level concepts effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients, subconsultants, and relevant government agencies
• Participate in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors as necessary
• Take an active role in proposal activities, including write-ups and preliminary and final reviews

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
