Job summary

DJ&A is seeking a full-time Structural Bridge Engineer I/II in Albuquerque, NM, with 2–5 years of bridge design, analysis, inspection, or load rating experience. The role offers mentorship toward PE licensure and exposure to diverse projects across the country.

Responsibilities include structural analysis, drawings, QA/QC, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and bridge software is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth and licensure

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures.
• Two to five years of structural engineering experience, including bridge design, analysis, inspection, and/or load rating.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or bridge design/analysis software (OpenBridge, BrR, LEAP, Mathcad, BRASS).
• Understanding of standard bridge materials: steel, prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, timber, modular systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design calculations for bridge design, rehabilitation, and replacement projects under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with bridge inspection, condition evaluation, and load rating tasks.
• Prepare and review bridge structural drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and bridge design software.
• Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications with guidance from senior staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop constructible bridge solutions.
• Coordinate with local project teams and DJ&A offices to deliver high-quality designs nationwide.
• Support field assessments, inspections, and construction observation as needed.
• Assist senior engineers with QA/QC review of bridge deliverables.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
• Manage time and priorities across multiple projects.
• Engage in continual learning of bridge design techniques and software.
