Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, GA office is seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of bridge structures experience to join our team.

The selected candidate will design bridges and related structures, prepare plans, specs, and estimates, and work with mentors to develop technical and client-facing skills on projects across the country.

You'll collaborate with engineers and designers in a fast-paced environment, contributing to high-quality solutions and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited degree required (B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering).
  • Engineer-In-Training certification required.
  • 2+ years of civil engineering design experience.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work on bridges, retaining walls, and related structural design projects.
  • Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates.
  • Collaborate with mentors and team members on plan production and client interactions.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, Georgia (GA) office is seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Bridge Structures team.

Responsibilities
  • You will have the opportunity to work on bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects throughout the country
  • Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • Holds "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification
  • Experience utilizing software programs for general structural analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
