Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join their Bridge Structures team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities include leading bridge design projects, performing structural analysis, and developing complete structural drawings and specs. Mentoring EITs and coordinating with clients and contractors are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • P.E. License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp; ability to produce drawings.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, RAM, ETabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT.
  • Strong sense of urgency, detail orientation, and client deadline discipline.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job description

Kimley-Horn's Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join their Bridge Structures team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Serve in a technical role on bridge design projects
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and planning on bridges and other transportation structures
  • Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance
  • Projects could include bridge design, box culvert, and retaining wall design
  • Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering
  • Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project
  • Lead and provide support for construction phase efforts on building projects in structural engineering
  • Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members
  • Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering design experience
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup with some ability to produce drawings and details, when needed
  • Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other structural related design software
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a continuous mindset on personal and staff development
  • Positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
