Job summary

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join their team in Mentor, Akron, or Erie, Ohio. This role involves preparing technical designs for transportation projects and mentoring junior staff in bridge design.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5-10 years of related experience, alongside strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD is also desired.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of related bridge design experience.
• PE registration is preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD plan development.

Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our team in our Mentor, Akron, or Erie office.

Responsibilities

• Preparing technical designs on transportation projects
• Mentoring/coaching junior staff on transportation design
• Developing unique and complex solutions to bridge problems for projects and pursuits
• Meeting with clients with CSMs in developing scopes and fees
• Managing tasks and technical designs on projects
• Working with other offices in future pursuits and projects

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• PE registration is preferred
• 5-10 years of related bridge design experience
• Good communication skills, organization skills, team player, and detail oriented
• Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD plan development
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills
