Job summary

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; experience with design software desirable.
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD specifications.

By joining our team as a Bridge EIT, you’ll partner with an established team of professionals to work on bridge design projects and perform analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation (highway and rail) projects. We’ll ask you to assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development and report writing. We’ll have you assist on transportation engineering projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. One way you will continue to develop professionally as a structural engineer is when we ask you to be active in technical societies and be available to attend meetings or events outside normal working hours.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional years of post‑graduate demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects is required
  • Previously demonstrated project experience with NYSDOT and other transportation agencies
  • Must have Engineer in Training (EIT). Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Demonstrated proficient knowledge of AASTHOWare BrR and BrD, MDX, CSiBridge, Midas, or other structural design/analyses programs desirable
  • Must have a solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
