Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge EIT/Designer to join the SC Bridge and Structures Team in Columbia. You will contribute to highway bridge design, inspections, and multidisciplinary projects under supervision, developing details with MicroStation/other programs.

The role requires a structural engineering degree and preferably an EIT certification. Local candidates are preferred, with opportunities for growth within HDR’s employee-owned culture and transportation-focused communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• EIT certification strongly preferred; without it, title will be Designer.
• Experience with structural design software and multi-disciplinary teamwork is valued.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bridge designs and develop design plans.
• Perform structural load calculations and quantity takeoffs.
• Support the bridge design group and other disciplines.
• Perform bridge inspection and construction observation as needed.
