Bridge Designer / Senior Bridge Designer

Department: Transportation

Location: Pleasant Grove, UT

Compensation: $80,000 - $130,000 / year

Unmatched Comp Time Policy: Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO for exempt staff.

As a Bridge Designer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the structural design, layout, and plan production on large multi‑discipline transportation projects. Projects will include single‑ and multi‑span bridges, complex retaining walls, and require close coordination with other disciplines (roadway, drainage, MOT, etc). The ideal candidate will also have mentorship skills to lead and train junior design and drafting staff.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design for large, multi‑structure transportation projects
• Be enthusiastic, dedicated, and self‑disciplined to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
• Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
• Develop designs in Power InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil3D
• Produce accurate output with a keen eye for aesthetics
• Manage project data files from various sources
• Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and virtually/remotely
• Training and mentorship of junior CAD staff
• Manage workspaces and develop plan sets in ORD, including sheet creation and plan set development
