Bridge Design Project Engineer

Our Boston office is looking to hire a Bridge Design Project Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a licensed PE in Boston, MA, have a minimum of 8 years of experience and will work within a team of professionals designing and developing plans for bridge and retaining wall structures. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, wants to work on complex and engaging projects, and desires increasing levels of responsibility.


Location

This position will work out of our Boston, MA office, and will be 4 days in office and 1 day remote.


The Impact You Will Have

  • Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design projects

  • Lead structural designers on bridge design projects

  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports necessary for bridge projects

  • Complex modeling analysis and/or design experience

  • Check and sign off on basic design calculations, quantities, and plan elements

  • Model, analyze and/or design elements of a project and coordinate development with other elements and disciplines within the project

  • Work independently and develop task deliverables in a competent and reviewable manner

  • Lead or assist with bridge inspection field efforts


What You Will Need

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required

  • PE License in Massachusetts or ability to obtain through reciprocity

  • Minimum of 8 years of bridge design experience

  • Experience working with MassDOTand local municipalities

  • Experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and local program

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Progressive experience utilizing AutoCAD and design software

  • Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules

  • Ability to perform complex analysis and design

  • Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
