Job summary

Michael Baker International is seeking a Bridge Intern for Summer 2027 in Moon Township, PA. The role offers part-time hours in an office setting, with remote work possible at supervisor discretion.

Interns will assist in design projects and learn under civil engineering professionals. You will gain exposure to calculations, drawings, CAD revisions, data handling, and basic structural analysis for bridge design, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in good standing at an ABET accredited program with at least two years completed.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with drafting software and FEM software preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills; good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design projects and prepare calculations and drawings.
• Draft details and perform minor CAD revisions.
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior staff.
• Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.
• Perform data gathering, calculations, and structural analysis for bridge design.
• Create finite element models using structural analysis software and Excel tools.
• Handle administrative tasks and meeting materials, scheduling support.
