Job summary

BL Companies Inc. is seeking a mid-level Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation group in a hybrid role. The position involves bridge design, analysis, and inspections with opportunities for growth based on performance and initiative.

Qualified candidates will hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and 3–6 years in bridge design or inspection, with EIT preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and strong writing/communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Previous experience with Departments of Transportation, public works agencies, or transportation design consultants are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and other transportation structures.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Use CAD software to develop engineering drawings and plans.
• Perform bridge inspections which include field work.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on various projects.
