Thornton Tomasetti invites an Engineer Intern to join the Transportation Bridge Team in Portland, Maine for the Summer 2027 program.

You will assist in designing projects from conception through construction, perform analyses and calculations, and ensure work meets quality standards under guidance. This internship offers hands-on experience with transportation infrastructure projects and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate in B.S. Civil or Structural Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
• Excellent academic record.
• Experience in OpenRoads Designer is helpful but not required; familiarity with BIM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design projects or components from conception through construction.
• Conduct analyses, develop calculations, interpret data, recognize problems, and find solutions.
• Be guided by corporate quality control standards within your discipline.
