HDR Engineering is seeking a Bridge EIT/Designer to join our South Carolina Bridge and Structures team in Columbia. The role supports bridge design and inspection projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

You will develop design plans and perform structural load calculations using specialized software. Preferred qualifications include EIT certification, experience with MicroStation, MIDAS, STAAD, LARSA, OpenBridge Designer, MDX, and AASHTOWare BrR; new graduates are welcome.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification strongly preferred; if not held, candidate will hold the title of Designer and must obtain EIT for progression.
• Familiarity with MIDAS, STAAD, LARSA or other structural analysis programs and OpenBridge Designer, MDX, AASHTOWare BrR, FEA software is a plus.
• New graduate candidates considered; additional bridge/structural design experience will also be considered.
• Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge inspection, roadway design, hydraulic analysis, construction services, environmental).
• Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and other DOT guidelines is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in bridge designs, develop design plans, perform structural load calculations and quantity takeoffs, review shop drawings and field submittals.
• Work in a team environment as well as independently to gain knowledge and experience in engineering.
• Support the bridge design group and other disciplines by applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designs.
• Perform other duties such as bridge inspection and construction observation as needed.

Formação académica

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering

Master's degree in civil/structural engineering (preferred)
