Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Designer/EIT to develop and detail bridge designs, including box culverts and interchanges, using advanced software tools. You will perform load calculations, assist with layout and quantity development, and contribute to inspection activities within a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Preferred candidates hold a Master’s in Structural Engineering or an EIT certification, with a background in use of LEAP/Bentley/OpenBridge and related platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and knowledge of engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
• Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
• Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform other duties as needed.
