Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Bridge Engineering Associate in Alabama to join our growing team. You will actively participate in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that benefit communities we serve.

Responsibilities include designing highway bridge projects, preparing plans and specifications, performing structural design and inspections, and coordinating with project teams, clients, and review agencies to solve complex problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Possession of or pursuing EIT certification is preferred.
• 0 to 4 years of experience in bridge engineering is expected.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong reading, analysis, and interpretation of technical manuals is required.

Responsibilities

• Writes, reviews, and coordinates plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge projects.
• Performs structural engineering design, modeling, and calculations for highway bridges.
• Assists in planning, development, and coordination of bridge designs.
• Prepares reports, permits, and designs for bridge projects.
• Collaborates with clients, review agencies, and team members on complex problems.
• Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan projects.
• Uses CAD software to prepare engineering documents and conducts bridge inspections.
