An established industry player is seeking a Bridge Design and Inspection Engineer to join their Fairfax office. Dewberry has a unique opportunity for a Bridge Design and Inspection Engineer in our Fairfax, VA office with 3 - 10 years of bridge design experience and bridge inspection experience. The successful candidate will design bridges and a variety of civil structures (primarily of steel and concrete construction) using applicable software. The candidate will be responsible for designing steel and concrete bridge elements, performing bridge load ratings, developing reinforcing bar lists and quantities, and reviewing shop drawings. Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widenings, and bridge rehabilitation. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting and/or leading Bridge Safety Inspections in Northern Virginia. Responsibilities will include bridge inspections as part of rehabilitation or repair task orders as well as on major Design-Build projects for locations within Virginia. The approximate split between Design and Inspection work is 70%-30%.
