Job summary

French & Parrello Associates in Wall Township, NJ seeks a Bridge Department Manager to lead our Bridge Department and serve as Senior Project Manager on major transportation projects across New Jersey and the Northeast. This role requires strong leadership, client engagement, and a track record of delivering complex bridge work.

You will mentor staff, oversee design, rehabilitation, inspections, and project delivery while expanding FPA’s bridge portfolio and client base with NJDOT and public

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New Jersey license preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in bridge, structural, transportation, or related infrastructure engineering.
• Experience managing complex bridge and transportation projects from design through construction.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and/or managing a technical department preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NJDOT design standards, AASHTO, and related transportation engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Bridge Department, including project delivery, staffing, resource allocation, and department performance.
• Serve as Senior Project Manager on complex bridge and transportation projects from planning through final design and construction support.
• Provide technical leadership on bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, inspection, and load rating.
• Build and mentor the Bridge engineering staff; support staff development and performance feedback.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, client expectations, and risk to ensure successful delivery.
• Develop client relationships with NJDOT, transportation authorities, counties, and municipalities.
