Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Front-line Engineering leader in Shreveport, LA to oversee bridge and culvert construction projects across North America. You will guide safety, scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes while upholding CPKC standards and environmental requirements.

You’ll work with Procurement to issue RFPs, manage resources, and partner with Operations to coordinate track block plans, with 70-80% travel and a commitment to safety and excellence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 4 years of railroad bridge construction experience.
• Passport with ability to travel U.S./Canada is a plus.
• Able to manage budgets and issue construction RFPs with Procurement.
• Experience collaborating across teams to execute bridge/culvert projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in computer systems.
• Occasional on-call for emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Develop and issue construction RFPs with Procurement and select contractors.
• Direct scheduling, execution and material ordering for bridge and culvert projects.
• Plan and coordinate track block plans with Operations.
• Track and manage projects within budgets.
• Conduct safety testing of contractors per CPKC standards.
• Audit projects to verify completion per standards.
• Ensure environmental compliance with Environmental Team.
