Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Compensation: $25.90/hour

Position Summary:

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Bridge Crane Operator position in the Global Coatings Division. The role involves operating the galvanizing department’s 15-ton overhead bridge crane safely and effectively to ensure high-quality finished products.

Essential Functions:

1. Monitor steel products in process tanks and zinc baths to achieve high-quality results.
2. Inspect hooks and chains; use gauges to check crane setup thickness.
3. Operate and maneuver drossing equipment safely.
4. Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety regulations.
5. Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
6. Operate radio-controlled crane during galvanizing process.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Positive communication and interaction with coworkers.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to smoke and particulates.
• Passion, integrity, drive to excel, and focus on results.

Highly qualified candidates will also have:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of overhead crane operation experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Problem recognition and resolution skills.
• Knowledge of hazardous substances and chemical safety responsibilities.
• High safety awareness.
