Bridge Construction Inspector

Dewberry is seeking a Bridge Construction Inspector to work on NJDOT projects in the greater New Jersey area.

To qualify, candidates must have prior construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects and possess NICET II, III, or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent; NJSAT, ACI-CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications. Additional requirements include excellent communication skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.

Responsibilities

• Document management and electronic processing of field reports, technical data, Pre‑Activity meetings, and materials test reports.
• Daily document control and management of contract documents.
• Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for distribution.
• Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders.
• Support CM project managers with coordination and scheduling of field activities.
• Copy, edit, and proofread proposals.
• Develop marketing materials, proposal content, and qualification packages; create presentations for CM pursuit interviews.
• Assist with processing CM group invoicing.
• May coach and/or guide a subordinate group.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years prior bridge construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects.
• Must possess NICET II Certification or higher in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction.
• OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred.
• NJSAT, ACI Field Grade I Technician, ACI‑CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Salary Range

The projected hourly range for this position is $40.00–$65.00. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, and market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
