Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This independent contractor role offers bookings through our platform and the freedom to set your schedule and rates within platform guidelines.

You'll conduct multiple fittings, customize gowns with hemming, bodice shaping, neckline and sleeve adjustments, and create bustles tailored to each dress.

Qualifications

• Bridal alteration experience with a portfolio or references welcomed.
• Ability to work with high-value gowns and fit them accurately.
• Strong customer-facing presence to reassure brides.
• Reliable workspace with space for fitting and steaming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference.
• Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown.
• Walk brides through timelines, expectations, and day-of processes.
