Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to guide brides through the alteration process from first fittings to final adjustments.

You will perform hems, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline and sleeve modifications, and create bustles tailored to each dress. This role is an independent contractor arrangement with platform-guided bookings; you set your own schedule and showcase your work to attract referrals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
• Ability to work with high-value gowns and provide careful fittings.
• Strong customer-facing presence to calm brides and guide decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Hem, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, and sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride's preference.
• Handle bridesmaids dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire.
• Explain timelines and options to brides, and set expectations for day-of fittings.
• Maintain a portfolio or references to showcase work.
