Job summary

Western Specialty Contractors is seeking a Bricklayer/Mason Foreman for our Cleveland, OH location. You will supervise crews, lay brick and stone, perform tuckpointing, caulking, and coordinate materials to meet project specs.

Ideal candidates have masonry experience, the ability to read drawings, and a strong focus on safety and teamwork. This full-time role requires physical stamina and the ability to work at heights in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Caulk around windows, joints, and concrete structures.
  • Supervise workers and ensure schedules and safety policies are followed.
  • Communicate progress to supervisor and coordinate materials.

Description

Come work for America’s Master Craftsmen in Restoration and Preservation! Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Bricklayer/Mason Foreman at our Cleveland, OH location. If you are a self-motivated individual with great work ethic and the personality to help with customer satisfaction, then we would love to meet you!


As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts.


  • - Oversee small/medium sized crews during various projects related to masonry and bricklaying projects.- Lay brick, block, stone, and terracotta.- Perform tasks related to tuckpointing including grinding/chiseling, mixing mortar, cleaning, and brick replacement.- Caulk around windows, control joints, and concrete structures.- Supervises workers assigned to area of responsibility to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications and meets quality standards- Acts as the competent person on the job by identifying existing and predicable hazards which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees and halting any operation or removes employees from environments that may be dangerous- Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary- Rigging of mobile and stationery scaffolding on structures in accordance with corporate guidelines- May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation- Perform other routine duties as directed by craft worker- Supervises & coordinates the activities of assigned workers, establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules, and communicates progress to superintendent- Ensures that workers know and understand the company's safety policies- Maintains liaison with customer's representative and advises superintendent and/or project manager of potential problems.

Requirements


  • Workers should be able to: Follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards.

  • Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.

  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction

  • The ability to read drawings is necessary

  • Communicate effectively in order to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.

  • Physically, workers must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction)

  • Abilities to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company's safety equipment are essential.

  • Experience in a trade or craft is required, preferably masonry and bricklaying.


Benefits

Western offers a competitive wage. We provide medical, dental and vision insurance with the company paying over 80% of the premium. A $10,000 Life insurance and $10,000 Accidental death and dismemberment benefit is provided and is 100% company-paid. Generous 401k plan. Must work at a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment.


Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate. In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for:



  • Beneficial ownership in the Company through Western’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

  • A comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, maternity leave, and additional benefits designed to support employees and their families.


US Pay Range

$30—$40 USD
