Job summary

Western Specialty Contractors, America\'s Master Craftsmen in Restoration and Preservation, seeks a skilled Mason for our Fort Worth, TX location. You will perform masonry tasks per project specifications and collaborate with foremen and trades to meet schedules and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have practical construction experience, own hand tools, and the ability to read drawings. Weekend or night work may be required.

Description

Come work for America's Master Craftsmen in Restoration and Preservation! Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top not individuals to help serve our customers as a Skilled Mason at our Fort Worth, TX location. If you are a self-motivated individual with great work ethic and the personality to help with customer satisfaction, then we would love to meet you!

As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay brick, concrete block, stone, tile and other masonry materials according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Experience in the work tasks of brick replacement, lintel replacement, mortar removal and replacement, and stone repair.
  • Measure, cut, and shape masonry materials using hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment.
  • Mix and apply mortar, grout, and other bonding materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and site layouts.
  • Install lintels, anchors, reinforcing materials, and expansion joints as required.
  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and structural integrity of masonry work.
  • Perform tuckpointing, patching, restoration, and repair of existing masonry surfaces.
  • Set up and work safely from scaffolding, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to meet project schedules and quality standards.

  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
  • Must be able to use logical step-by-step procedures in working with different materials using a variety of skills.
  • Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and be able to judge straight lines, spaces and proportions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings
  • Identify existing and predictable hazards in work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
  • Must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Must be able to work at heights and at extreme temperatures, and wear company’s safety equipment.
  • Practical construction experience preferred.
  • Must have own "hand tools of the trade."
  • May be required to work weekends, nights, and out of town.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Benefits

Western offers a competitive wage. We provide medical, dental and vision insurance with the company paying over 80% of the premium. A $10,000 Life insurance and $10,000 Accidental death and dismemberment benefit is provided and is 100% company-paid. Generous 401k plan. Must work at a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment.

Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate. In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for: Beneficial ownership in the Company through Western's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). A comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, maternity leave, and additional benefits designed to support employees and their families.

US Pay Range: $25 USD - $30 USD
