Job summary

Octopi Brewing in Madison, WI is seeking a Brewhouse Brewer (Hot Side) to keep the brewing process moving from raw materials to finished wort.

You will own yeast propagation, operate brewhouse equipment, perform quality checks, and maintain logs. This full-time role offers growth through our Brewer Career Matrix and shifts across 1st/2nd/3rd/weekend schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

Founded in 2014 as a Wisconsin contract brewery, Octopi Brewing has spent over a decade brewing and packaging beer, seltzers, RTDs, and sodas for clients nationwide. In 2024, Asahi — brewers of Asahi Super Dry — acquired Octopi, making us the U.S. production home of Super Dry. THE OPPORTUNITY

Our brewhouse keeps the entire brewing process moving — turning raw ingredients into finished wort that feeds every batch downstream. We're looking for a Brewhouse Brewer to help keep that process precise, efficient, and in spec.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must-haves:

• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting 55 lbs / moving 165 lbs as needed
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
• Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing or manufacturing setting
• Flexibility to work various shifts and prioritize shifting tasks

Nice-to-haves:

• 2–3 years of experience in a brewing environment
• Degree in Brewing Science/Technology

PAY BY SHIFT

Pay starts at $24.00/hr - $26.00/hr based on experience, with growth up to $34.00/hr through our tiered Brewer Career Matrix — whether you build that experience here or bring it with you, already brewed. Shifts outside of 1st shift include an additional shift differential on top of that base — never a lower starting rate, just added pay for the shift.

• 1st Shift — $24.00/hr (minimal base rate)
