Job summary

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is seeking a Brewery Support Worker 1 to help maintain cleanliness and sanitation across the brewery and restaurants. This entry-level role reports to the Brewery Support Supervisor and offers growth opportunities in a production environment.

Shift is 2nd, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM with a 7% shift differential. Pay ranges from $16.90 to $22.17 per hour, plus benefits including 401(k) match and health plans. Training provided for equipment and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 1 year of prior experience in industrial cleaning or manufacturing preferred.
• Basic literacy skills required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective communication required.
• Ability to become certified and operate forklift, scissor-lift and articulating boom (training provided).
• Forklift certification upon hire preferred; certification within 180 days required.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping and sanitation tasks (sweeping, cleaning, restrooms, equipment).
• Operates mobile equipment and cleaners safely.
• Assist production needs in Brewing, Packaging, Warehouse, Quality as needed.
• Respond to immediate support needs and maintain personal workflow for handoffs.
• Ensure safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.
• Document maintenance requests and perform minor facilities work.
• Complete preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment.
• Assist guests with questions and directions.
• Maintain SQF system and participate in related trainings.

Get to Know This Role

The Brewery Support Worker 1 is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the brewery and restaurants to the highest standard of quality. Reporting to the Brewery Support Supervisor, the core responsibility of the role is to perform facility wide housekeeping and sanitation duties to ensure the facility is orderly and hygienic. This is an entry-level position into a production facility with internal growth opportunities.

Please note: This is a 2nd shift position, with working hours from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. 7% shift differential included.

What You Will Do

• Performs housekeeping and sanitation tasks such as sweeping, washing windows and walls, cleaning restrooms, cleaning/polishing equipment and removing or sorting trash/recycling/compost
• Effectively uses mobile equipment (forklifts, articulating booms, scissor lifts, etc.), specialty washers (pressure washers inside and outside), and specialty or generic chemicals
• May assist with production needs in Brewing, Packaging, Warehouse, Quality and other departments as necessary
• Respond to brewery and restaurant immediate support needs; maintain personal workflow that enables easy hand off to others when required
• Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed
• Documents facilities maintenance requests and executes minor facilities maintenance tasks
• Completes preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment
• Assists brewery guests by answering questions and providing directions
• Perform other related duties as requested
• This role is responsible for production and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. There will be Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and SNBC policies. All duties will be completed in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Employees shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

• 1 year Previous experience in industrial cleaning or manufacturing preferred

• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a member of a high-functioning team

• Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (S.D.S.) and label instructions
• Ability to use furniture moving equipment such as a dolly or cart
• Ability to safely operate powered equipment such as a shop vacuum, floor buffer, carpet extractor, high pressure water systems and a variety of hand tools after training
• Forklift Certification upon hire preferred
• Forklift Certification within 180 Days required

• You must be at least 18 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
• Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift / Mon - Fri
