Job summary

BBQ Holdings, Inc. operates Granite City Brewhouse facilities and is seeking a Brew Operator to produce wort and maintain brewing equipment and the facility.

Responsibilities include milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling, transferring to storage, and equipment repair. The role requires adherence to SOPs, strong teamwork, and inventory oversight, with flexibility for shifts and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong planning and project management skills.

• Passion and commitment for brewing.
• Able to lift heavy objects (e.g., 50 lb malt bags).
• Stand for extended periods and work in 32–100°F environments.
• Able to understand MSDS and handle brewery chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Complete brewing process including milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to storage vessels.
• Repair brewery equipment with assistance from Brewhouse staff.
• Complete daily cleaning and maintenance checklists.
• Aid yeast propagation per Company process.
• Maintain cleanliness of all brew house areas.
• Coordinate with Lab Technician to ensure product quality.
• Follow standard operating procedures unless instructed otherwise.
• Maintain inventory and report low levels to supervisor.
• Arrive on time with a positive attitude and complete paperwork accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for producing wort and maintaining brewing equipment and facility.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Complete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, milling, mashing, and lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to Storage vessels.
• Repair brewery equipment with assistance from other Brewhouse employees.
• Completion of daily cleaning and maintenance checklists
• Aid with yeast propagation following Company's process.
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house.
• Work with Lab Technician to ensure our product meets our standards of the highest quality.
• Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed.
• Communicate regularly and efficiently with Granite City staff.
• Maintain inventory as needed. Report any low levels of inventory to your supervisor when necessary.
• Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
• Perform others duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to lift heavy objects (empty kegs, 50 pound malt bags, etc.) above five feet in height

Educational Requirements

• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Brewing experience preferred , but not required
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Records background check
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends and holidays
