Job summary

BBQ Holdings, Inc. is seeking a brewery operator responsible for wort production and maintaining brewing equipment and facilities. You will perform the full brew process, monitor safety, and ensure quality control across shifts.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift heavy objects, and the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with Lab Technicians and other Brewhouse staff to uphold standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Passion and commitment for brewing.
  • Able to lift heavy objects (e.g., 50 pound malt bags).
  • Standing for extended periods is required.
  • Able to multi-task and work both unsupervised and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Complete brewing process safely and efficiently (milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling, transferring).
  • Repair brewery equipment with assistance from Brewhouse staff.
  • Complete daily cleaning and maintenance checklists.
  • Assist with yeast propagation per company processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all brew house areas.
  • Coordinate with Lab Technician to ensure product quality.
  • Follow standard operating procedures unless instructed otherwise.
  • Communicate regularly with Granite City staff.
  • Maintain inventory and report low levels to supervisor.
  • Arrive on time with a positive attitude; complete paperwork accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is primarily responsible for producing wort and maintaining brewing equipment and facility.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Complete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, milling, mashing, and lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to Storage vessels.
  • Repair brewery equipment with assistance from other Brewhouse employees.
  • Completion of daily cleaning and maintenance checklists
  • Aid with yeast propagation following Company's process.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house.
  • Work with Lab Technician to ensure our product meets our standards of the highest quality.
  • Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed.
  • Communicate regularly and efficiently with Granite City staff.
  • Maintain inventory as needed. Report any low levels of inventory to your supervisor when necessary.
  • Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Perform others duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects with excellent attention to detail.

  • Passion and commitment for brewing.
  • Able to lift heavy objects (empty kegs, 50 pound malt bags, etc.) above five feet in height

  • Work in environments of 32 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to understand MSDS and handle chemicals utilized in the brewery

Educational Requirements
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Brewing experience preferred , but not required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Records background check
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends and holidays
