Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ seeks a dedicated WIC breastfeeding support assistant to educate pregnant and breastfeeding participants under supervision.

You will collaborate with nutrition staff to promote breastfeeding and maintain required documentation and records. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a current or former breastfeeding mother and WIC participant, and complete mandatory peer counselor training with a passing grade.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a current or former breastfeeding mother and a current or former WIC participant.
• Must attend mandatory peer counselor training which will be provided and have a passing grade.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and education about breastfeeding to pregnant and breastfeeding WIC participants.
• Work collaboratively with nutrition staff to encourage and promote breastfeeding.
• Maintain all documentation and records as required.
