The CommonSpirit St. Anthony Lakewood Comprehensive Breast Program is actively seeking a fellowship-trained breast surgeon to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for benign and malignant breast conditions in Lakewood, Colorado.

You will collaborate with medical and radiation oncology, imaging, pathology, plastics, genetics and supportive care to provide evidence-based treatment and participate in research and teaching.

Qualifications

  • Residency or fellowship in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology completed.
  • DEA registration obtained and maintained.
  • Board certified or eligible in Breast Surgery/Surgical Oncology.
  • Medical staff privileges at sponsoring institution.
  • Doctorate: MD or DO required.
  • Current and unrestricted Colorado medical license.
  • Moderate physical requirements as specified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive surgical evaluation and management of breast disease.
  • Perform breast surgery including conservation, oncoplastic techniques, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy and axillary dissection.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast clinic and tumor board conferences.
  • Coordinate individualized treatment plans with the breast team.
  • Advance quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based care pathways.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
  • Engage in community outreach, education and breast cancer awareness.
  • Involve in clinical research, teaching and mentorship when available.
  • Support survivorship care with a patient-centered approach.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The CommonSpirit St. Anthony Lakewood Comprehensive Breast Program is seeking a fellowship-trained breast surgeon to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of breast disease management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with medical and radiation oncology, breast imaging, pathology, plastic surgery, genetics and supportive care services to provide evidence-based coordinated treatment for patients with benign and malignant breast conditions. This position offers the opportunity to participate in a growing breast program with access to advanced imaging, tumor board collaboration, clinical research, and innovative surgical technologies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide comprehensive surgical evaluation and management of benign and malignant breast disease.
  • Perform the full spectrum of breast surgery including breast conservation, oncoplastic surgery, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, axillary dissection and advanced surgical techniques.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary breast clinic and tumor board conferences.
  • Collaborate with the breast team to coordinate individualized treatment plans.
  • Support and advance quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based care pathways and program development.
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in community outreach, education, and breast cancer awareness initiatives.
  • Engage in clinical research, teaching, and mentorship opportunities as available.
  • Foster a compassionate patient-centered environment emphasizing shared decision-making and survivorship care.

Job Requirements
  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology.
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency ("DEA") registration.
  • Be board certified or eligible in Breast Surgery/Surgical Oncology, by a board acceptable to Hospital.
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution.
  • Doctorate MD or DO required.
  • DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Colorado required.
  • Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) #HEC.
Pay Range

$459,441 - $459,441 /year
