The Division of Hematology and Oncology within the Department of Medicine, at the Wilmot Cancer Institute of the University of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting full-time faculty member(s) specializing in research and clinical care of patients with breast cancer. The Wilmot Cancer Institute and University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry serve as major resources for cancer care, research, education, and community outreach in central and Western New York State. This position will be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Division of Hematology and Oncology.
The Pluta breast oncology program at Wilmot Cancer Institute is a multidisciplinary program consisting of surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, breast imaging, and pathology sub-specialists. The selected candidate(s) will have the opportunity to lead the breast oncology group and clinical research program, continuing to expand the existing breast oncology clinical trial portfolio. Ideal candidate(s) would be able to build a cross-disease site early Phase clinical trial program with others in the Wilmot Cancer Institute. The selected candidate will also participate in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Hematology and Oncology.
Duties may at times include any combination of the following: Patient care, teaching, independent or sponsored research, administrative duties, community outreach, and University-related public service. The exact distribution of these responsibilities will vary from time to time according to University, department, division needs, your interests, and the candidate’s career trajectory. In general, this application will be expected to be a productive member of the University community, whether productivity is measured by patient care, active research, teaching, and administrative service. It is expected that time will be divided between research activities and clinical activities, including patient care, outreach, teaching, and administration.
