Job description

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) seeks full-time associate or assistant level professor medical oncologists with an interest in clinical and translational research. Opportunities in multi-disciplinary oncology programs are available for fellowship trained, board certified/board eligible Hematology/Medical Oncology with professional interest and training in one or more of the following clinical areas:

  1. Breast Physician Scientist
  2. Head and Neck/Thoracic
  3. Sarcoma

The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, teach fellows, residents, and medical students, and work with dedicated disease-specific research staff. The candidate will also have access to substantial programmatic research funds and many shared resources for collaboration with basic, translational and clinical resources at UWCCC, VA and throughout the UW-Madison campus.

UWCCC is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and is also a part of the NCCN, ECOG-ACRIN, ALLIANCE, NRG and the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium. Clinical research is conducted in the UWCCC by 17 multi-disciplinary Disease Oriented Teams and is supported by the UWCCC Clinical Research Office. Over 170 UWCCC investigators regularly enroll patients to therapeutic intervention trials at our two UWCCC clinical sites.

As the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin, the UW Carbone Cancer Center specializes in the treatment of more than 25 cancer types. In addition, UW Health’s EastPark Medical Center, a state-of-the-art, 469,000 square foot ambulatory facility, is the definition of patient-centered care, housing oncology and multidisciplinary clinics, advanced imaging and laboratory services, and supporting innovative clinical trials.
