Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Radiology Technologist specializing in mammography to operate X-ray equipment for breast imaging and to assist physicians in imaging procedures. You will review patients' prior reports, document exams, and ensure specimens are labeled and sent to pathology when needed.

The role supports imaging across various departments, with a focus on the breast imaging program, and requires ARRT radiography certification, NJ DEP license, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in an accredited RT program.
• NJ DEP license.
• ARRT Radiography Certification.
• CPR Certification.
• Preferred: 200 mammography exams performed within past 24 months.
• Preferred: ARRT Mammography certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Position patient on examining table and adjust immobilization for optimum views.
• Explain procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Move x-ray equipment into position and set exposure factors.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
• Operate mobile x-ray equipment in OR/ER/bedside.
• Specialize in production of screening and diagnostic x-rays for breast detection.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
