Job summary

Aura Health in Urbana, IL seeks a Mammographer to perform breast imaging, including stereotactic-guided biopsies, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.

You will conduct imaging procedures, review orders, maintain equipment, and support training of students and staff while adhering to safety protocols and departmental guidelines. This role may involve leadership duties in the imaging team.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiography and Mammography certifications are required.
• IEMA licensing or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• Associate’s Degree or Radiologic Technology Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of breast imaging and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine and complex breast imaging and invasive procedures following departmental protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
• Selects appropriate mammography techniques to optimize data quality and collaborates with radiologists when needed.
• Reviews patient history, labs, and radiology orders for accuracy and medical necessity, acquiring additional information if necessary.
• Ensures imaging quality by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment, and transfers images to archiving systems with relevant clinical data.
• Maintains imaging equipment, manages supply inventories, reports malfunctions, and adheres to safety protocols for patients, staff, and environment.
• Utilizes digital systems such as PACS for image review and reporting, and assists in training students and new staff.
• Supports department productivity, may perform duties of other modalities, and may act as Breast Imaging Lead or Imaging Coordinator in absence.
